Terms of service

Last updated September 24, 2026

These terms apply when you install and use BatchTrail (“the app”) on your Shopify store. By installing the app you agree to them. If you use the app on behalf of a business, you agree for that business.

The service

BatchTrail records materials, supplier lots, recipes, production runs and the batches linked to shipped orders, and helps you trace and recall them. It updates stock and costs in your Shopify store when you record production or a recall.

Plans and billing

  • The app offers a Free plan and paid plans. Current prices and limits are shown on the Plan page in the app.
  • Paid plans start with a 14-day free trial and are billed through your Shopify invoice, monthly or yearly. Shopify handles payment, currency and taxes.
  • You can change or cancel your plan at any time from the Plan page. Refunds and credits for unused time follow Shopify's billing rules.
  • If you go over a plan limit, new production runs or document reads are paused until the next month or until you upgrade. Tracing, order linking and recalls are never paused.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice. Changes apply from your next billing period.

Your responsibilities

  • Enter accurate information. The app's records are only as reliable as the data recorded in it.
  • You remain responsible for your products, for meeting the food, cosmetic or other regulations that apply to you, and for deciding when to recall a product and how to contact customers. BatchTrail is a record-keeping tool and does not certify compliance with any regulation.
  • Use customer information from the app only to contact customers about the products they received.
  • Don't misuse the app, for example by trying to access other stores' data or disrupting the service.

Your data

You own the data you put into BatchTrail. We process it only to provide the app, as described in our privacy policy. When you uninstall the app, your data is deleted as described there.

Availability

We work to keep BatchTrail running reliably, but it is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, and may occasionally be unavailable, for example during maintenance or Shopify outages.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or losses caused by inaccurate data entered into the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid for BatchTrail in the 12 months before the claim.

Ending the service

You can stop using BatchTrail at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend access if these terms are seriously breached, or discontinue the app with at least 30 days' notice.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms. Questions: support@batchassured.com.
